Spotify has criticized its competitor Apple, saying: The offer of the new subscription (Apple One) from the iPhone manufacturer misuses its dominant position in the market by favoring its (Apple Music) service.
Spotify said: The (Apple One) is harmful to competitors' streaming music services.
Spotify and Apple charge $ 10 a month for the music service, but the Apple One bundle - which comes with other services, such as TV or video games - starts at $ 15 a month.
The collection includes (Apple Music), (Apple TV Plus), (Apple Arcade), (Apple News Plus), and (iCloud) storage service, and Apple gives customers different options to combine its various services into the (Apple One) collection.
Spotify said: We call on competition authorities to act urgently to restrict Apple's anti-competition behavior, which could cause irreparable harm to the developer community and threaten our collective freedoms of listening, learning, creativity and communication if left unchecked.
Apple said in a statement: Apple One is targeting current users of its services, and customers can enjoy alternatives for each Apple service, and you can cancel at any time.
Apple added, We offer (Apple One) because it represents customer value and a simple way to access the full range of Apple subscription services. We recommend the plan that provides you with the most money based on the subscriptions you have, and it is ideal for anyone who loves any of our services and wants to get more at a cost. And Apple announced last June that (Apple Music) had exceeded 60 million subscribers, while Spotify announced in June of this year that the number of subscribers had exceeded 138 million.
It is reported that Apple, the most valuable company in the world, is currently under attack from the company (Epic Games), the developer of Fortnite, in a legal battle.
But (Epic Games) was not the first to accuse Apple of abusing monopoly power, as it was preceded by Spotify, whose complaint helped launch official investigations in the European Union against Apple.
