Apple announces the 8 generation of its iPad

Apple announced today, Tuesday, during its Time Flies event, the eighth generation of its tablet iPad, which features an A12 Bionic processor with its Neural Engine.

The US tech giant said: Starting at just $ 329, the upgrade provides more value in the most popular and affordable iPad, which features a 10.2-inch Retina display, advanced cameras, and all-day battery life. Customers can order an iPad today, with its availability starting next Friday, September 18th.

Apple added that the eighth-generation iPad with the A12 Bionic chip delivers a huge leap in performance, with 40 percent faster CPU performance and twice the graphics capacity. This makes the new iPad - according to Apple - twice as fast than the best-selling Windows laptop, three times faster than the best-selling Android tablet, and up to six times faster than the best-selling Chromebook.

For the first time on an iPad, Apple said, the A12 Bionic chip introduces the Neural Engine for next-level learning capabilities, including: motion tracking in AR apps, enhanced image editing, Siri digital assistant performance, and more.

The company said: In combination with the A12 Bionic and the power of the iPadOS system and the first-generation Apple Pencil stylus, the new iPad is ideal for drawing, taking notes, marking documents, and more.

Thanks to its thin and light design, the new iPad is a durable and portable device with blazing-fast wireless performance, support for gigabit-class LTE connectivity, and all-day battery life, giving customers the freedom to work, learn and connect at home.

In addition to the iPad, Apple today announced its smartwatch Apple Watch Series 6, its cheapest smartwatch Apple Watch SE, and fitness service Apple Fitness+. And the new subscription service Apple One.
