Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs. iPhone 11 Pro Drop Test - Unexpecting Result

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with the new Gorilla Glass Victus from Corning on the front and back, which is the glass layer that Corning promised to provide better protection against scratches and breakage.

PhoneBuff YouTube channel recently published a new video showing the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra undergoing the usual drop tests and was compared with Apple's iPhone 11 Pro Max.  You can see the results below:

Droping the phone on the back is usually worse than in the front because the  camera unit becomes the prominent point of contact in the phone making it a weak point unlike flat-back phones because a flat surface dissipates energy.  With that in mind, the Gorilla Glass Victus' protective glass layer significantly outperforms the Gorilla Glass 6 used on the iPhone 11 Pro Max.  Yes, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has had some scratches and cracks, but it's clearly a better condition than the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The second fall was on the corner, but manufacturers have recently started focusing on strengthening these corners in their high-end smartphones.  In the case of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the edge picked up some scratches, but that did not affect the appearance or performance of the phone.

Falling to the face is the test that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra thrashed the iPhone 11 Pro Max rival.  After 10 drops, the front end of the phone remained safe with only minor scratches.

It is really important to have a rugged phone, especially when its price starts at $ 1,299.  Corning said owning a new,  protective glass is an investment that will demonstrate its benefits over time and encourage customers to pay more for the right protection.
