Future Apple devices will have the ability to clean themselves

Cleaning the exterior of your smartphone is very easy. However, the internal parts of the phone are difficult to clean, almost impossible and largely unnecessary, but sometimes the accumulation of dust and dirt can have a negative impact on the hardware.

This is why Apple seems to be exploring the idea of introducing an iPhone that has the ability to clean itself . This is according to a patent discovered by Apple Insider that describes a system that can help clean sensors using ultraviolet rays.

According to the patent description, he said that UV rays can initiate a photo-oxidation process, which leads to the decomposition of squalene. During interaction with ultraviolet light, squalene decomposes into three secondary substances ... that may not be dangerous to surrounding sensors.

It appears to be a rather complex system andit's not sure if it's particularly realistic or necessary. However, given the COVID-19 outbreak that has brought to mind the need to pay attention to hygiene and sterilization, this idea is probably not a bad one. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Apple turns this idea into reality.
