New report confirms the coming of Huawei Mate X2 phone with a folding screen towards the inside
Huawei announced two foldable smartphones so far, the Huawei Mate X and the Huawei Mate XS, which are phones that come with foldable screens outward. However, the Huawei Mate X2 coming from the Chinese company will be different, as it is said to have a folding screen towards the inside.
This new information came from the analyst at DisplaySearch, Mr. Ross Young, who responded to a tweet by the prominent American channel known as evleaks, saying that the Huawei Mate X2 will have a foldable screen inward that will be imported from Samsung and BOE. Instead of using the Ultra Thin glass protective layer, a plastic protective layer will be used instead.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that we hear about a foldable phone from Huawei with a screen folded inward, as the Chinese company registered a patent with the European Union Intellectual Property Office for this design last January.
The drawings presented by Huawei to the aforementioned regulatory body revealed that its next foldable phone will include a slot for the stylus, and it will come with four cameras in the back and two cameras in the front located on the vertical sidebar, which is also the position of the secondary screen. You can look at the drawings below to get a better idea of the design.
Before concluding, we would like to point out that the prominent American leaker Evan Blass revealed that the Huawei Mate X2 phone has the code name Teton, while the next generation of Huawei Nova phones carries the codename Jessica / Barbie, and the Huawei Y9a phone the codename Franklin. As for the Huawei Freebuds Pro, they bear the codename Mermaid, while the Huawei Watch Fit bracelet has the codename Stia.
