Apple stops selling competitors' products

Apple has stopped selling wireless headphone and speaker products from competitors, including Sonos, Bose and Logitech, as the company prepares to launch its new audio products.

The Cupertino, California tech giant has long sold third-party devices via its website.

All headphones, Bose speakers, Logitech amplifiers and the latest smart speaker from Sonos all disappeared from the Apple e-store at the end of last month, according to Bloomberg.

Apple employees have also been directed to remove products offered for sale in stores in recent days.

These moves come at a time when Apple develops several new products to expand its audio strategy.

Apple's first over-ear headphones may be announced as early as this year, and the company is also working on a smaller version of the HomePod.

Apple previously vacated its physical and digital sales shelves in order to make room for its new products.

In 2014, Apple stopped selling Fitbit wearable products shortly after the Apple Watch was announced.

The company withdrew (Bowers & Wilkins) products a few years ago and removed Bang & Olufsen devices from store shelves earlier this year.

Apple had shown products from Bose and Logitech for several years, but it temporarily stopped selling Bose accessories in 2014 after Bose sued Beats owned by Apple for patent infringement.

Apple began selling some Sonos amplifiers in 2016 before stopping sales of these devices a few years ago.

In January, Apple began selling a Sonos One SL amplifier that lacks a competing digital voice assistant, but it removed that device from its online store last month.

Apple said it regularly makes changes to the products it sells as new third-party accessories launch and customer needs change.

She added that its stores continue to sell a coordinated set of third-party accessories to help customers get the most out of Apple devices.

The only headphones Apple offers are its AirPods and AirPods Pro, as well as products from its subsidiary, Beats.
