YouTube is officially announcing "Shorts" ... to compete TikTok

 




Today, Monday, YouTube has officially announced the launch of the YouTube Shorts service, which will compete with the popular short video sharing service TikTok.

The company said in a blog post that  Shorts is a new short video experience for content creators and artists who want to shoot short and engaging videos using their mobile phones.

YouTube also said that over the years, YouTube has enabled an entire generation of content creators who shared their opinions and found an audience of over two billion people. The company indicated that the short videos made by users were born on YouTube since the first video was uploaded to the site, referring to the video entitled Me at the Zoo, which did not exceed 18 seconds.

As technology advances, content creators and artists can now harness the incredible power of smartphones to easily create and publish high-quality content wherever they are in the world. People can be entertained and informed with small content in the spare minutes of the day.

YouTube said: The (YouTube Shorts) service will be launched over the next few days in India only, with an early trial version with a set of construction tools, with the aim of testing the service. The company added that it will continue to add more features and expand to more countries in the coming months.

It is noteworthy that the duration of the videos that will be shared through (SHORTS) will not exceed 15 seconds, and the service focuses on three main areas, which are: Video creation, as more than one short video can be combined in the shared video. There is an option to record with music, with a huge library of songs to choose from, just like Tik Tok.

The service also provides an option to set the speed, as well as a timer option that makes it easy to record without the need to touch the screen. YouTube has promised to provide more construction tools in the coming months, noting that the new construction code has become available for Android phones in India, and soon it will be launched for iOS and more countries.

Likewise, TikTok also focuses on making it easier to discover videos from content creators, in addition to making it easier to move between short videos by dragging on the screen vertically.

And the company promised to release more features in the coming weeks and months.
