Sony announces its new phone Xperia 5 II

Sony continues to update its line of smartphones to focus on photography and video with its new phone Xperia 5 II.

This phone represents the youngest brother of the Xperia 1 II, but it is better in many ways, as it has a screen with a high refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The phone comes at a price of $ 950, to go on sale on September 29, and Sony says: The phone will not be shipped until December 4, 2020.

The phone (Xperia 5 II) comes with a long 21: 9 screen, but is relatively small with a size of 6.1 inches, along with a Snapdragon 865 processor, and a 4000 mAh battery that supports fast charging of 18 watts.

There is 8 GB of RAM, while storage space is available in two sizes, which are 128 GB and 256 GB, and there is a microSD slot if you need more space.

Sony also added dual front-facing speakers (stereo), and a traditional headphone jack, but there is no wireless charging.

For cameras, the (Xperia 5 II) includes a triple-lens rear camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels each, and according to Sony's focus in photography, it prefers to call it the focal length equivalents: 16 mm, 24 mm and 70 mm.

Sony claims that (Xperia 5 II) is the first smartphone capable of recording slow motion videos at 120 fps in 4K HDR.

The Sony Professional Video app allows you to have great control over video settings, and group clips into projects to facilitate editing.

Nevertheless, the (Xperia) line is well-known for its autofocus and speed of capture, as the (Xperia 5 II) features Sony's best-in-class autofocus, which can focus on human or animal eyes, and maintain sharp focus, with speeds up to 60 times per second.

Perhaps the most interesting imaging feature is that you can set the Xperia 5 II to act as a docking device directly attached to one of Sony's modern mirrorless cameras.

Although this feature is not the equivalent of a desktop USB tethering, it is much faster and more efficient than the usual wireless solutions offered with cameras these days.

Sony has an enhanced game mode with some useful features, where you can adjust the screen refresh rate, motion blur and touch response speed, and there is also a power override feature that allows you to set the phone to draw power directly from the (USB-C) cable without charging the battery, which greatly reduces heat.
