POCO M2 launched at $ 150

 

Xiaomi launched its new phone named Poco M2 in India through a virtual event.

The POCO brand is expanding rapidly in India and globally, much faster than consumers might expect.

After the launch of (POCO F1), the company continued its journey with the smartphone via (POCO X2), followed by (POCO F2 Pro), and then (POCO M2 Pro) and (POCO X3 NFC).

As its name suggests, the phone is a lite version of (Poco M2 Pro) that was launched in July as a slightly modified version of (Redmi Note 9 Pro).

The (Poco M2) phone comes with distinctive specifications for its price, such as: an eight-core processor, a quad rear camera, and a large battery.

It will be offered in different configurations in terms of RAM and storage, as well as three color options.

In the event that the new phone looks familiar, this is true, because it is a rename of the phone (Redmi 9 Prime), which in itself is a rebrand of the global brand (Redmi 9).

The phone works with Android 10 operating system with the MIUI user interface, and it is assumed that it will get (MIUI 12) soon.

The device features a 6.53-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

There is a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, paired with the Mali G52 graphics processing unit and 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with up to 128 GB of expandable storage space via a microSD card.

In terms of photography, the (Poco M2) has a quad rear camera with a 13-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth lens.

There is an 8-megapixel front camera for photos and video calls, and the front camera sensor is located in the bump.

Connectivity options include dual-band wireless network, dual VoLTE support, 4G and Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone port and a USB Type-C port.

The company provided the phone with a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, with support for fast charging of 18 watts, along with a coating (P2i) to resist water splashes.

The Poco M2 comes in two configurations: 6 + 64 GB at $ 149 and 6 + 128 GB at $ 170.

The phone will be offered in three colors: Pitch Black, Slate Blue and Brick Red, and will be available for sale starting September 15th.
