APPLE OPENS THE FIRST STORE FLOATING ON THE WATER IN THE WORLD

Apple newest retail site, located in Singapore on the city's waterfront and officially known as Marina Bay Sands, can claim the title of the only Apple retail store on the planet that floats on the water.

Apple's global retail network may be struggling during the coronavirus pandemic, but that hasn't stopped the company from indulging its fondness for the unique and odd-looking exterior design.

The site is part of a luxury hotel and carries the same name, it is the company's third store in Singapore after Orchard Road, which opened as the first store in Singapore in 2017, and Jewel Changi Airport, located in the world-famous retail sector of the Transportation Hub in  Singapore, which also has the world's tallest indoor waterfall.

During the day, the new Marina Bay Sands store looks like an alien spacecraft of some kind or perhaps some form of futuristic theater.

But at night, when the iconic Singapore skyline is lit up in the background, the store comes alive, and you can clearly notice that the company has designed this store that it's best to see it in the dark.

There are not many details about the location, such as how the interior is organized, but this store is known to be the 512th Apple retail store in the world, and it should open soon.

And MacRumors got a short teaser video made by Apple to promote the opening of the store, which displays a special graphic designed to simulate the appearance of the thin lines of light that spread across the orb at night.

9to5Mac posted what appeared to be marketing images and promotional invitations for the new store, where the store is referred to as "The Lantern on the Gulf".

During the day, the glass panels in the store reflect the towering horizon of the city center and the movement of flowing water, while at night the ball glows gently, evoking the design of the traditional lanterns carried during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Singapore.

Te floating store will include the same procedures as other Apple stores in Singapore, including ongoing health and safety efforts against (COVID-19), which include limited occupancy, wearing a mask, and other sterilization requirements.
