Netflix has achieved another impressive achievement, now it has broken the barrier of 1 billion downloads on Google Play Store.
By comparison, the competetor Amazon Prime app has been downloaded less than 500 million times, Hulu app has been downloaded less than 100 million times, and HBO Go app has been downloaded less than 5 million times.
The new service that may challenge Netflix is Disney+, thisapp has been downloaded nearly 10 million times, but it should be borne in mind that this service is available in a few markets and is relatively new knowing that it will celebrate its first birthday in November.
Netflix has been the focus of a number of headlines during the past few months after it became one of the platforms that reduced the quality of broadcasting in service to relieve pressure on the network during quarantine implementation worldwide due to the pandemic of COVID-19. That restriction was removed after two months, but other companies still set SD as the default broadcast option for their services.
