Study: Apple's laptop are more reliable than others
MacBook cost awfully expensive. But you may have been right to buy one.
It is sometimes said that Apple products are expensive and for nothing than the competition, we can have machines with equivalent performance at a lower price.
However, the results of a study by the US-based Consumer Report on 58,000 people who bought laptops between 2010 and 2015 may justify these prices: according to the study, Apple is again the brand the most reliable.
According to estimates by Consumer Report, only 10% of Apple laptops fail within the first three years after purchase. For computers running Windows, failures are more common. In fact, again according to this study, 16-19% of them fail in the first three years. Still, the MacBook would be used on average 23 hours per week while the average for all laptop is 20 hours of use per week.
But that's not all because PCs Apple also fall out less often. According to Consumer Report, among Apple machines that fail, "only" 42% fail more than once while 55% of laptops of other brands that have failed fail more than once .
Failure MacBook, however, is that in addition to cost more, they also cost on average more expensive to repair. Consumer Report has discovered through this study that a third of the MacBook repairs cost more than $ 300. But anyway, MacBook users are more satisfied.
Otherwise, for Windows laptop, the organization believes that these lines are the most reliable: the Gateway NV and LT, the Samsung ATIV Book, Lenovo ThinkPads and Dell XPS.
