SKYPE
Your friends will not need an account to use Skype
All you have to share a URL to invite someone to join a discussion. And that person will not need to download the Skype application or to have an account.
There are some months, Skype announced the release of its web chat application. The advantage of the web version, is that it allows to use the service without having to download the application. For example, if you're on vacation and you use the computer in a hotel, you do not need to install client, you just go to web.skype.com can identify you.
And now, if you want to invite someone to join you in a conversation on Skype, it does not even need to have an account on the service. Indeed, Microsoft has announced a new feature for its chat application that allows to invite anyone to talk on Skype directly sharing a URL.
This link can be generated by a user on the Skype application for Windows, Mac and the web version. Once generated, it can be used to invite people to chat via email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Once the person has been invited clicks on the link (and not having a Skype account), he simply enter its name and click Join. It is very simple.
It is noteworthy that Skype is not the first to have had this idea. For example, the Mozilla Firefox browser includes an instant messaging feature to start a video conversation with someone just by sharing a URL with that person (no registration required).
However, this new Skype feature is currently available only to US and UK. However, Microsoft explains on its blog that it will be deployed worldwide in two weeks.
