Huawei confirms that its current smartphones will get Android and GMS updates

The temporary license granted to Huawei expired last week, which means that the Chinese company may not be able to provide its users with any Android updates in the future. This has worried Huawei phone owners, but now the official Huawei Mobile account on Twitter has entered the line, confirming that this will not be the case.

The official Huawei account stated: “HI THERE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR MESSAGE. THERE IS NO IMPACT ON EXISTING DEVICES. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SHARE SECURITY AND SOFTWARE UPDATES TO OUR DEVICES, AS WE ALWAYS HAVE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE LET US KNOW VIA DM. ”

The concerned Huawei Nova 5t owner asked whether his device will still be eligible for future Android updates and GMS package, and the response he got from Huawei confirmed that the current Android devices will not be affected. Moreover, the statement confirmed that operating system updates and security updates will continue to come to Huawei users.
